Abs/ traction control issue

Featured Replies

OK. 2009 ford focus 1.6tdci.

ABS light on / Traction control light on. NSF brake locking up unless hand brake light displaying, even though handbrake not applied.

Help !!!!

Maybe a faulty wheel speed/abs sensor? Reading fault codes may help narrow it down

Put fault code reader on it. Based on a 2008 1.8tdci mk2.5 , assume yours will be same but can’t be sure,  abs unit is behind battery box, lower down,  think battery box needs removing to access it. There are loads of wires on abs unit, a couple of thin wires that go from abs unit to esp sensor which I think is under drivers seat. I think hand brake light is controlled by the bcm/gem via the ms canbus .  Based on memory of working on my brothers car.  I cant guarantee my memory.
