Hi guys.

As previously posted about my new to me zetec s having a blown head gasket ,to currently driving a 20 year old mk1.5 focus estate. I am now nearly over the line on a deal for a mk3.5 st2 . Should be next week once the zetec s tdci is taken away and my credit file returned to normal . Any thats the back story covered lol. So my questions are what are the most common running problems to look out for when in service. The next is ,it being st2 it dosnt have cruise. I asked the saleman if he could upgrade it to st3 spec by fitting cruise optioned steering wheel  the cruise equipment and turning it on via etis. He just looked confused and said dont know tbh . Ive never been asked that. So can it be done ? Cruise is fairly important for longer drives due to a bad right ankle . But not a deal breaker but would be nice to have .

    You are in the correct forum but 5 hours isn't necessarily long enough for an answer on a fairly unusual question.

    The Mk3.5s can be more difficult to activate cruise on than Mk3s due to FoCCCus software limitations.  Not all PCMs were covered and I don't know if the ST one is.  You may also be able to use Forscan but will need the extended licence.
