Battery & clicking problems

Featured Replies

So my battery keeps discharging and I then have to jump start or sometimes have to recharge the battery at home. When I start the car there is a strange clicking sound heard from passenger's side. Could a fuse be causing the clicking and maybe also draining the battery?

Its only started since last month. Before that I had no problems even on short journeys.

Should I be looking at the alternator? Last MOT was October

How old is the battery ?

What is the battery voltage after the car has been parked for 30 minutes ?

What is the battery voltage with the engine running at a fast idle ?

Battery/alternator are a good place to start. The MOT has absolutely nothing to do with starting issues.

A dodgy relay if you're very unlucky, but not a fuse.
