2010 ford fiesta zetec s miles

Featured Replies

My 2010 zetec s is a 1.6 petrol and has now reached 116,000 miles.

I've been told that for a petrol the miles are getting high and I should change car. Could anyone let me know what miles they have put on their 1.6 ti and how much bother it gave at high milage?

Any help would be very appreciated

Thanks.

The engine will probably outlast the bodywork tbh. As soon as you start getting rust problems it'll just be an endless repair.

Really depends on how well its been looked after and how it's been driven.

My 1983 Mk1 golf gti 1800 did over 225,000 miles (valve gear replaced at about 200,000)

Was still going strong but got written off after some idiot smashed into it when I was parked at the roadside .

It's only just got 'run-in'

Ford for some crazy reason expect the 3 cylinder 1.0 ecoboost engine to last till nearly 300,000 miles. Or I assume that's what they expect. Since they have a wet belt change at 150,000 miles and given the cost you would want to do nearly the same mileage again just to get your money's worth !

I've only got a 1.6 ZS on 85k recently, so cannot help you directly, but...

How much is the car worth if you sold it now?

What could you buy in it's place?  i.e. have you more cash to put into a 'better' car?

Either way, why would you swop a car that is not a problem for a car that might be?

As above, cars tend to last depending on how they've been treated, but a big difference is how well they were made in the first place.

I don’t think that’s a particularly high mileage. Of course 116k miles if mostly done in top gear is totally different to 116k miles on short journeys going up and down the gears. But if driven and looked after properly 116k miles wouldn’t make me think it’s time to sell

116K is fine, I have seen fiestas on the market at 200k or more with the original engine still
