Deep Sleep

Featured Replies

Hi all

Quick question. Am going to book my car in next week while it is under warranty for the FordPass deep sleep problem. Has anyone heard for definite that software update SSM 49795 has been released by Ford? I did see somewhere that it had been released in December 2021 and should cure the problem. If it doesn't that it could be a TCU problem which I  would assume comes under the warranty.

Thanks for any info.

Found this elsewhere, hope it helps.

'SSM 49795 - May 12, 2021 - Various 2018-2021 Ford And Lincoln Vehicles - Unable To Perform Remote CommandsVia The FordPass/LincolnWay App - Erroneous Deep Sleep Message

Some 2018-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may not be able to perform remote commands via the FordPass/LincolnWay App due to an erroneous deep sleep message. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

That sounds like it was written by their PR Department, not the Technical one.

I don't know if it is the same thing but for anyone interested, the TCU on vehicles with Modems does receive OTA updates if Connectivity Settings are enabled in the Sync Settings, my car has had about 4 in the last 2 1/2 years. This is different to Wi Fi updates to the Sync System and you will not know that they are happening.

For all the hassle it is and for the amount I use FordPass I think I shall just bin it. Have notice a few others have had problems it as well. All the other electronic gizmo's and sync are working perfectly on the car.
