Can anyone tell me what my options are to replace the dead radio in my 2008 Galaxy. Can I just buy a replacement from a scrapped galaxy if I can get the codes?  Not sure what options are available so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you just want the same as what you already have then "Yes" it's a straight swap. You can get them from eBay or scrap yards quite cheap.

Don't worry about the security code as long as you can read the serial number label. There are many place on the internet that will tell you the code for FREE (don't pay).

there are many options, to fit aftermarket, single/double din, bluetooth, cd, usb long as you get a fitting kit and harness adapter its a straight forward throw in job.

Thank you. I am literally just after a replacement but I had been told it had to be a brand new vanilla unit as it needed to be tied in to the cars security.

Hi Stephen, with some of the newer cars/radios they do have to 'matched' up but even then it's just a matter of reprogramming. In your case your car pre-dates the extra security.
