Book My Garage service definitions

Featured Replies

I get what Oil + Filter change neans but as for the others?

In the context of 18,000/2yr, 36,000, 54,000 mile services can anyone clarify

  1. Interim Service
  2. Full Service
  3. Major Service

The FAQ's don't help all that much, apart from implying that the 24 month might be a major service for cars that have annual servicing (formally!) The "secret service" at what is clearly my local Ford dealer is way below the quotes for the pre-paid services when I bought the car!

thanks - Richard

Ford don't actually use a simple 'minor or major' service plan.  You'd have to check each individual service on ETIS to see what's included based on years or mileage.

You may be able to find out what Ford recommend, but the garages may not adhere strictly to that.

As far as I can tell, Bookmygarage is a way of introducing you to some independent garages who may have their own definitions of major/interim etc. I think you'll have to ask each individual garage what THEY include (which my explain some of the price differences, perhaps???

Thanks all - just tried a dummy booking and found the details I need - against each service (Major, Full, Interim) there's a "Whats Included" button.

Interestingly you get an entry for "Secret Service", this is recognisable as my local Ford main dealership, with the service prices quoted well below that shown on the pre-paid servicing quote that I had when I bought the car last October, which if I remember rightly was £300-odd for the 2 yr service and £500 or so for the next one!!

My bad, I hadn't heard of Book My Garage.  It looks like SecretService is an external service designed for cars out of warranty - SecretService™

SecretService™ was developed exclusively for main dealers to win more aftersales market share of 3+ y/o vehicles

  • 50% of SecretService™ bookings are from targeted ads - Consumers are conditioned to believe Franchise servicing is expensive, and often ignore your ads. SecretService™ marketing attracts customers who would normally book at an independent/fast-fit, winning on average 70% of new customers.
  • The other 50% are from BookMyGarage.com - using the same service schedules with competitive pricing, dealers can compete apples-for-apples whilst also protecting their brand values.
  • 2020 returned £376 in Revenue for every £100 invested in SecretService™
  • Real-time reporting – fully understand & present detail on all of the major KPIs
