Brake repair price

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have bought myself brake pad, disk and shoe for my 2009 fiesta. I haven’t got a chance to repair them myself so I have called a garage for a quote to replace them. They have quote me £150 labour for front and rear brake repair. I don’t know if it’s a reasonable price or not. How much do you think it should be?

thank you!

Did they say how many hours that was for ( I have no idea on garage labour rates) but that could be for 2 -3 hours labour. I assume the are using the parts you have bought.

For reference, this is what a Ford garage could charge for parts and labour Click here

They didn’t tell me but I think they are charging for about £60 per hour. So I guess it takes them about 2.5hours. which is average I guess 🙂

Sounds reasonable enough to me. Probably take them a couple hours, plus they're not making anything on parts costs.

they'll charge full whack on labour as not making anything on parts, i have my regular trusted guy, he doesn't spank me on either, and i trust him which is 90% of the battle
