Odd car stereo issue Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.4 2009

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have just got a Fiesta 1.4 Titanium 2009 and been looking through the manual.

Had a couple of strange issues and just wondering if anyone has any thoughts.

First instance was I had a call using the bluetooth and then the call dropped and stereo turned itself off. The screen just showed the date and time. None of the buttons worked other than Menu. I managed to get it working by eject cd and putting in again.

Second instance I opened the boot only to put something in it and the radio was on. I unlocked the car and then turned car on. Turned it off and the radio was still on. I locked the car and the radio was still on. I am not sure if when I locked the car last time the radio was still on. Had a lot going on so mind a bit over the place.

I also have a strange humming noise by the fan below the radio unit which I think is the climate control thing.

Just a bit worried about the radio not turning off when I lock the car. I have had the car a couple weeks and think its the first time its done it but it is strange. Am concerned it would drain the battery.

Anyone come across this or is there a way of updating stereo or to find out what version stereo is running?

Kind regards,

Colin

On my 2007 fiesta the radio turned off when turning key off.  On my 2015 fiesta it stays on until I open the door after turning engine off.   I don’t know on yours at what stage it should turn off. Do you know ? Or can someone else who has one tell us?
