Washer pump

Featured Replies

Hi every one.

Hi have a Ford fiesta 1.4 2009, and have a problem in rear washing liquid pump.

Anyone knows the location of that pump?

Thanks in advance

There is only one pump that does both front and rear screens.

When you operate the front screen wash the pump rotates in one direction (lets say clockwise) and when you operate the rear screen wash it rotates in the opposite direction.

Pump is located and attached to the side of the screen wash bottle. You should be able to hear the pump when it is operated. If you hear it when you operate the front but not the back then you have an electrical fault, normally a problem with the BCM. If you can hear it operate for both front and rear screens then you have a blockage in the pipe to the rear screen, often that is the non-return valve.

So the "noise on the back" would that be the rear wiper ?

You say it is a 2009 Fiesta. They only have one screen wash tank fitted with one screen wash pump.

If you look at the first link I posted above it shows the tank, the pump, and the two pipes for both the front and rear screens. Below is the diagram for the rear screen wash pipe and washer jet. There is no pump for the rear screen in the back of the car.

What you are possibly hearing is the washer liquid flowing/leaking out of the tube/hose as the rear washer line runs through the top of the headlining overhead the right-side. There is usually a hose connector around that area you have stated and its possible the hose has torn away/ disconnected from that connector section - An easy fix usually

The OP 'Hugo Neves' checked back here only 5 hours ago, but didn't update us with his findings as he said he would.
