Replace Faulty Heated Front Screen?

Featured Replies

My 'new to me' 09 plate Fiesta had it's first heated front screen attempt this morning 🥶 Unfortunately it wasn't something I could put to the test when I bought it a few weeks ago.

A strip Infront of the driver side cleared perfectly (luckily) but the rest of the screen only cleared in 2 or 3 thin lines...

I wondered if it's possible to claim for a replacement on insurance and if anyone has done this? Or are windscreen claims for chips/cracks only?

Thanks in advance 👍

Have you removed the plastic cowling above the rear view mirror and checked the connectors are clicked in fully ?

Oh, wait, I don't have cowling. The mirror is attached directly to the windscreen ☹️

Iirc part of the connections to the heated screen sit in the interior lighting housing above the mirror.

Sometimes these connectors (spade type) work loose over time and just need clicking back into place.

Under the interior lighting housing. Ignore the wiring to the lights obviously and there should be two space type ( pushfit ) connectors the be behind or underneath the plastic trim of the light housing itself. Thats where the daughters issue was that the connectors had vibrated or worked loose a few yrs ago.

If you search YouTube for heated screen issues there is a video or two showing where it is.....
