Water leak from roof rail

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help, I have a water leak dripping above the drivers door from the head lining and down the door rubber trim to the carpet, I think it is comings from the roof rail. How can I cure this leak.

First rule in curing any leak, is to be certain exactly where the water is coming from. The roof rail has no obvious way of letting water in unless the metal in the roof beneath the rail has corroded to such an extent that it is genuinely coming through the roof. I would more likely suspect the seal round the top of the windscreen has failed, and is allowing water to run inside the cabin of the car, appearing through the headlining. To rule out the roof rail, just run a hose on it and see if the leak shows itself!
