1.8 tdci top end rebuild

Featured Replies

Morning.
I have just replaced the head gasket in my Galaxy engine.
gotbit started after much bleeding but now getting fuel pressure oscillating wildly and preventing it idling.
loads of 88 and 87 (too high or too low) errors.
strange thing is when I disconnect the fuel pressure sensor plug, it idles fine although clearly jerky.
what could be causing this constant fluctuation given I’ve just rebuilt the top end.

So for those that may be interested, the cause has been established.
I had inadvertently swapped the 2 connectors on the fuel pump when rebuilding.
Swapping the connectors immediately cured it.
running perfectly now.
