Ford Focus 2019 - Sync 3 Phone Issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently bought a 2019 Ford Focus ST which has Sync 3 installed. When I plug my iPhone 12 into the car with lightning, the Apple CarPlay works perfectly, however when I receive phone calls they sound muffled and very quiet, no matter how much I turn the volume up. The issue started randomly about 2 months after I purchased (beforehand it worked fine). This happens when it is connected bluetooth to Sync 3 as well, even when not using CarPlay. I've tried updating the Sync 3 software, but it seems to be up to date (V3.3). I've also factory reset with no luck. Anyone had this issue or any ideas on how to fix?

3.3 software is old there should be a 3.4 update. How are you checking for updates?

You can try Wi-Fi, otherwise the official updates via usb is here:

Some people prefer to use cyanlabs. Their installer uses genuine ford software but with a leaked factory reformat tool. It can work faster just be careful as it lets you install unsupported combinations which will block future official updates. Just spend some time reading up on it first if you go the cyanlabs route.
