Hi there,
After 2 months of Halford trying to find the issue with my car, I finally brought it to a Ford Dealer, and was given a quote, or kind of, as follow:

"for replacing the Power Train Control Module & Turbo Solenoid, this cost alone is in the regions of £2500 & this is purely a starting point as other issues on the car i.e coolant leak at cylinder head and suspension work will take this cost well beyond what would be regarded an economical repair."

Does 2500£ seems a fair price for a PCM and a turbo solenoid, or might it be way over the mark in an attempt to discourage me to get the work done?
I asked for a precise breakdown of the cost, since I have a warranty for the car (which the garage didn't know) and I'm still waiting to receive this, due to "technical issues", it's been 2 days.

Any thoughts appreciated,
Thank you.
Gwendal.

I think they are trying to be polite and say the cost of fixing your car is more than what it's worth.

£2500 at a Ford main dealer is about what you would expect. If, as they are saying the car has other problems then you could add at least another £1000 + for extras.

I would be AMAZED if any warranty will cover any of this work, they are normally a total waste of money.

Ok thanks, I'll wait for the breakdown and try the warranty, and I'd be amazed too if they pay for anything :).
The car isn't even payed yet!
Cheers.
