Ford Fiesta 2014 - Humming Noise only when power is applied

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I own a 2014 ford fiesta automatic (US). This model had a transmission recall (US) due to grinding noise; it was fixed, problem solved. Last week I started to notice a humming noise coming from the front of the car. It almost sound like if I am driving a truck with noisy large tires. I have also noticed that is only when power is applied and when speed is over 35MH. Strange. It sounds like a bad wheel bearing but not sure since is it only present or noticeable when applying power. Example...if I am doing 40MH and shift into "Neutral", the noise stops. When I shift back into "Drive" and I apply power the humming noise is back. What can it be? A ball bearing inside transmission?

Any help is highly appreciated.
