i can see it hitting the 2quid mk like,,we got a local farmer just down the road who done that fuel thing years ago he tryed it again few month back but no joy lol,,

150.7 here today. So gone against the grain as things are at the minute and filled up to the brim 😲

£55 light as there was just over a quarter of a tank left in. 462 mile range so should last a while if I only go to work and back (13 miles a week).

my daughter learning to drive and now its went from 24quid to 30quid an hour from next week

I wonder who actually buys fuel from motorway services?

I fill up localy and never need to get fuel at motorway services even if I'm on a long trip. 700miles on a tank full .

So more than enough miles to decide where to fill up cheaply( well less expensive)

People who drive company cars with fuel cards and don't pay for the fuel themselves...

I've also never bought fuel from a motorway services.  Even the ones on the dual carriageways here are generally several pence more expensive than taking a slight detour in the outskirts of town.

Only filled up on a Motorway once and that was when the Tanker drivers were on strike a few years ago and the Motorway Services had plenty of Diesel when most Filling Stations were empty.

When I'm venturing down to Englandshire and need a Pit Stop I usually just pull off the Motorway in a less built up area and there is usually either a local Filling Station or a Supermarket with fuel not very far away.

Anyone who has had to travel down the M6 on a Bank Holiday Friday and spent ages trying to find a parking space at the Services anywhere south of Preston would be advised to do the same.

Tesco - Durham Just off the A1(M) Junction 62

prices as of yesterday afternoon. (Friday 4th March 2022)

Petrol - £150.9

Diesel - £151.9

In the 70s when I used to "commute" between the Clyde Submarine Base and Gillingham in Kent, there was a petrol station just off the M6 at J23 - a regular stop !

6 days later from my previous post @ 150.9 per litre of diesel it's now risen to 169.9 per litre 😲

1.63 for diesel now at my local place seems to go up every few days

Get ready for £2:00 per Litre, by may I reckon

My local garage has put diesel up 7p a day for the last 3 days, currently 175.9.

I'm expecting it to be over £2 by April.

Already £1.90 at some garages near me. £2 will be before April here.

If you venture up this way again there is a large Asda with a Fuel Station just off the last Carlisle turn off on the M6, junction 44.

Fuel could & may well get to $200USD a barrel. It has already been rumoured that $300 a barrel is not unfeasible. This would no doubt have a catastrophic effect on the worlds economy.

Surprised to see E10 was still at 151.9 at the local Tesco this morning (though they were out of E5 super unleaded, which they often are). Next garage 200 yards away was 158.9. Diesel +8p at both.

We just put £20 in every now and then.

well by next month that should just about cover the price of one gallon !!

Still going up today at Morrisons. Others have been the same for a few days. Luckily I filled up 1st march before the significant daily  jump in prices around here. Paid 152.9p diesel. Now average 180.9p

Done nearly 500 miles and still got approx an easy 380 miles left in tank. Good for another 2weeks. By then hopefully the fuel may have gone down a bit.
