Android auto dash sync

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a Ford fiesta mk8 titanium variant.

I think one of the best features of the build in navigation is the information that flashes up on the dash screen about turns coming up. When synced with android auto using Google maps however, these don't show up. Is there anyway to change this to get this added to the dash whilst using Google maps on android auto?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, but you need to be running Sync 3.4. My 2018 S-Max came with Sync 3.0, which doesn't show the Google map directions on the small screen, and Ford will not update 3.0 beyond that. However, you can update to 3.4 using Cyanlabs and then it becomes the latest version with map directions repeated and radio logos, amongst other things. Just do a search for Cyanlabs. I have successfully updated my system to Sync 3.4 with the latest maps and it is far better than Sync 3.0.

Hello, thanks for your feedback! I updated the Sync, and 3.4 certainly looks far better and is more responsive so thank you for that! However in android auto using Google maps, it still does not show on the dash screen the turn notifications. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

You may need to update APIM firmware in Forscan to get this feature. I'm sure Cyanlabs mention it. Do not attempt to update with a cheap lead, research. OBDLink EX minimum

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick reply!

I'll be honest - I'm no expert when it comes to cars, and updating the APIM firmware will likely be a bit too advanced for me unfortunately. Is there any alternative way to get this updated?

I would ask on sites like Cyanlabs as there's more knowledge
