Cam belt change

I have a festa 1 Ltr eco boost  due for a belt change with in the next 6 months  as its a long job,  I'm told about 10 hrs  should I go to a main dealer

YES !!!

expect to pay between £900 to £1200 at Ford main dealer prices. Don't wait 6 months before you get it done, they have a nasty habit of failing long before they are due.

You won't save more than a few pounds using independent garages (and many won't touch the 1.0 ecoboost timing belts any way).

I have been to my local dealers and was quoted  about £1500

Probably a little more since you have an Echoboost. 🤔

It is normally only up to £1200 for a regular 1.0 Ecoboost at a half decent Ford dealer, but times are hard and the garages need to keep the profits rolling in.

I think garages have upped labour costs tbh.  I was quoted £700 for the belt change on the 1.6 TDCI recently. :unsure:

I did wonder if the lack of new car sales over the last couple of years has forced them to raise labour rates on servicing.
