Cambelt tensioner advice. 2011 1.6 zetec.

Hi guys. Im looking for help on correct method of fitting the tensioner now I'm a vw tech. Never worked on a ford so I'm going to do a cambelt the weekend and have all the tools etc. But like VWs the cambelt tensioners are tightened once you tension them. On fords am I thinking you just torque the tensioner fit the belt on and then pull the the tensioner pin. No need to do it hand tight then pull pin then torque it. As that's how vws work ?? Any help would be great thanks.
