Garage costs - is the price okay?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My first ever post - always wanted to join a car forum but never cared about my cars enough until I got my Silver Surfer MK4! Hope you're all well 🙂

Essentially I was hoping to get some thoughts on if the following work and the labour costs match up? Please note this is for labour only:

I need:

- Front and rear discs and pads changed

- Front right wishbone

- Front left top mount shock absorber

- Rear trailing arm bushes both sides changed

- Front shock absorbers changed x2

Quoted: £390 total

Please let me know your thoughts on whether this is a good price or not?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Baz,

My advice would be, to get a couple of other quotes. This should give you a better idea of costs.

That is a very reasonable labor cost.

Ford dealers are stealing £120 per hour these days (soon it will be cheaper to get the car serviced by a solicitor 🤣)

hahahahaha that tickled me. Thanks for that - I mean the wishbone and bushes sound like a bigger job.

I've managed to source the parts for 250 all in, good old ebay. Cheers peeps.

Sounds like a good price to me, assuming they are a good garage.
