Hi my automatic ford kuga titanium x 2014 has started moving forward slightly when I come to a stop. This is after driving for about 30 minutes it gets worse as I drive it feels stalling in a manual the more I drive it. I've had a garage look at it but they can't find any faults.

Gearbox oil needs drained and changed. (No, it's not a lasts a lifetime thing)

Ford dealership charge about £300.

Is yours a FWD or AWD ?

The AWD will also need the oil and filter changed in the Haldex rear drive axel.

It's AWD when I bought the car last year someone had wrote gear box oil changed on the last service.  But I can't see any receipt for this.

Well I'd guess it never got changed. You also need the Haldex serviced.

Spoke to a garage today apparently it's a common fault with the quick shift kuga. He said something about the clutch and fly wheel. Just been quoted £2200 which sounds crazy 🤪

Yes been there, had the story, the book and the video and a similar price when I had a 2010 Kuga which my daughter now has.

I basically told the Ford dealership it would be a cold day in hell before we would spend that sort of money on it. We took it to a different Ford garage and told them to service the auto gearbox - in other words change the oil. Later I did the Haldex myself, not easy but for oil and filter it cost about £170 if I remember correctly.

That was about 12 months ago now and "so far, so good"

Yup change fluids where possible is generally first port of call on an auto box, ive driven auto's all my life [its not over yet] as ive always had a dodgy left knee so clutch work is a no-no. Even those allegedly sealed units can be done if needed.
