Fiesta build/delivery date keeps getting pushed back

Featured Replies

I ordered a new Fiesta ST from a UK Ford dealership in November, and was told I would receive the car on the 31st March as stated on the New Vehicle Order form. After hearing nothing from them by mid-January, I visited the dealership and they had the build date on there stating March, with a delivery date of April 21st. I was happy with this, as due to the part shortages, I kind of expected it.

After hearing nothing from them again, I visited on March 16th as my dad was collecting a car he also ordered from them in November, and again asked the dealership for an update because my car was only meant to be a month away from arriving. He told me that the system was down and could not confirm a date, but last he checked it had a build date and was still to arrive on April 21st. I asked him to email me once the system was back up and running (It was only down for an hour or so, apparently). And once again heard nothing from them, where I then decided to email on March 29th asking for a reply, and not receiving an update until I phoned them yesterday (7th April) where the salesman who was dealing with mine and my dads car wasn't at work, but another salesman found the information for me and informed me there isn't actually a build date for my car, so it won't be arriving in April, nor will it be here in May.

He commented on the fact that I currently have a car on finance with Santander, and Ford are taking this car as a part-exchange towards my new Fiesta. I informed him that my finance with Santander ends in April, where I would need to either pay a final fee to own the car, or give the car back. Where the initial plan was that Ford would deal with the final payment for me, they are no longer doing this because the Fiesta isn't ready, and I'm essentially left to pay for this final payment now. And the only reason that Santander extended my finance is because Ford sent them the Vehicle Order Form with the date of delivery. I have asked if they could help me in any way and I was told that it isn't their problem and it's mine to deal with and enquire with Santander. And I'm now also worried that Ford won't honour the price they were paying me for my current car when it eventually comes to me getting the Fiesta, due to age, extra miles, and general depreciation.

Is there any kind of compensation that I'm able to get from this? Or any kind of good-will I could receive from Ford, due to how unprofessional they've been. Especially with leaving me in the lurch for so long, stringing me along, misinforming me, and now telling me I've got to deal with Santander, when it is in fact their fault for giving myself, and Santander, incorrect information.
