Retrofit Bluetooth With Voice Control and USB for Focus MK2.5

Featured Replies

Hi all I have been looking at doing this for ages now and decided to sort it out. I have ordered the parts as per here

my problem is I can not for the life of me find the connections in the car I have a 59 plate 1.6  focus. I have looked to the left of the glove box but cannot see a group of wires that would hold the connections. Please help as I am loosing my mind. Lol. Many thanks Michael

I've just done my mk2 bluetooth. Your car likely already has the module there if you already have bluetooth (especially on a 59 plate). Remove the glove box, once that's out look inside and up, you should see a bracket holding the module. You can't see it just by removing the glove box as it's above the glove box.

The likelihood is you can't find the wires as they're already being used.

Thanks Bettsaj,

I will have a look this weekend as I have the 3 little ones off and to look after.

I have just had a looked on Ford 7 zap.com and mine is less Bluetooth (after putting in my VIN) does that mean I will need the patch loom Finis 1667645, 6S6J 14C007 AB? As I don’t think mine has the wiring in situ as I looked yesterday and I have no grey foam over any cables to the left of the glove box. I have ordered BVC module 8M5T-19C112-AN, Microphone Finis 1532666, Audio patch cable Finis 1592580 and the control stalk Finis 1318965.

kind regards

Michael

For what it's worth, mine says less bluetooth as well... but it was fitted anyway... you'll have to physically look to definitely confirm.

The wiring will definitely be there as ford don't have 2 different looms. They have one loom that fits all. If the module definitely isn't there the plug etc will be, tucked away somewhere. My guess is you have a module.

Hi Thanks for the reply I will have another look at the weekend, but looking at other threads on here the focus does come with different looms. As other members have had to buy it as per GothicRebel dated 13th January 2014.

Thanks for your help do far very much appreciated.

kind regards Michael

Hi all, Hope someone might be able to help. I have followed the guide to install t this I have the phone working. But I have no sound coming from the USB from the iPod it is recognising it and I can see the tracks on the stereo but no sound through the speakers. I can hear the sound coming from the iPod if I turn it up loud. Does anyone have the wiring diagram just from the Bluetooth module for the usb to the stereo? I used the Schematics Bluetooth/Voice control 6000CD& Sony information. How many wires should be in use from the Bluetooth module? Kind regards Michael

I believe there is an issue with certain BT units not streaming etc, make sure you have the right one. Cant help as i went the aftermarket and ariel splitter route.

Hi Jimpster, Thanks for the reply. I have sorted it now and is fully functional. Just needed the firmware updating to the newest one dated November 12. As previous versions of firmware had to use the Audio 3.5mm Jack for the sound and the usb connection for the iPod information/track number. So the the sound would only come out of the 3.5mm Jack. I owe a lot to everyone on here for some great guides and information. I used a old £20 loom and stripped it to form a new loom for the purpose. Very easy to do if people still want to do it. And a lot cheaper than ford loom price of £465 if I remember correctly (just for the loom). Mine totalled £103.47 for everything. A bit of learning and a lot of reading but worth it. But could be cheaper if find parts cheaper. If anyone wants information I will try and help as well. Kind regards Michael
