Hi. I need to replace my power steering fluid on a 57 plate mk2 Focus.

I've been reading and apparently I need WSS-M2C204-A2 green fluid.

I've put that into Google and am not coming up with buying options so my question is, can someone tell me the name of some suitable fluids that I can go and purchase to do the job please? Please, please, please!!!

Sorry, no idea. I would suggest you check with the store. Or try a local motor factors or Ford parts counter.

Thanks. I just don't get why it is so complicated. Apparently you need a specific fluid but the fluids are generally just sold as generic power steering or ATF fluids. It's a headache.

Yeah, not so simple it seems....thought it was red in mine until I checked. Same spec as yours but I bought mine from Vospers via Ebay 4 years ago...was only £7.95 back then!!

Had a quick look at Halfords website and it could be the CHF fluid that you need HERE, but I would still suggest that you get them to check first.

The confusion comes because Ford factories continued to use up the old red stuff in Focus's that should've had green...  

The CHF isn't quite right.  You really do need to just buy the proper green stuff from a Ford dealer.

That would be my preference and hence I did. There will be no doubt then.

Thanks guys. I know there has been other threads where there has been debate about the fluid being red or green and whether to continue with red where it was red.

I've attached a photo of my fluid. It looks mostly black really. Do you recommend I try and remove all of the current fluid and then flush with the green stuff from Vospers?
