anti freeze

Featured Replies

Hi got a new expansion tank for my mk2 focus, looking to fill it with antifreeze, just wondering how much the tank will hold, thanks

Never measured, but I'd estimate 500-800ml.

My mech topped mine up for MOT said it took 3 litres, think he was fibbing LOL

so i litre should do, i will be filling the tank from empty with just antifreeze

if you have a 5 litre container make a mix up to the strength you want then add it or buy premixed from most cheapie shops

My money's on 1 litre being nowhere near enough to fill it to the max line (or even the min line to be honest). But 1 litre a/f plus 1 litre water might do it.  Do let us know!

Have you bought ready mixed anti freeze?  Concentrate stuff is designed for diluting.

thinking of ready mix but dont know how much to get

the manual should say fluid quantities, allegedly just over 5 imperial gallons, according to google

He only wants to fill the bottle, and maybe a little lost from the hose, not the entire system.

I still think a litre will do it easily, but happy to be proved wrong!

My Google says 6 litres.  5 gallons is really quite a lot of water.

Indeed!  1 gallon is about 4.5 litres.  Means 45mpg is the sweet spot for working out fuel costs.  (Simply divide litre price by 10 to find pence per mile!)

If you took the old one out just fill it with water and find out.

You will need that as the minimum and some more for whatever drained out the pipes
