newbie and sidelights problem

Featured Replies

Im going insane....

So got hold of a low miles mk2 08 auto.

Issue with sidelights - no power to bulb socket.

Fuses fine (replaced and tested), bulbs fine (replaced and tested), re-seated fuse connectors in footwell, cleaned all connectors

rear lights working ok

Power going to main lighting socket, pin 4 & 6, no power coming out to bulb side on both.

Am I looking at removing the lens as I cant get to the rear of the bladed connectors on the light unit?

So frustrating. Or am I missing a "trick"

Bar that loving the wind noise on drivers window (!)

My drivers window is silent. If you press against it when hearing the noise, does it stop?

Maybe a bad connection in one of the plugs on the bcm under the glovebox.  The electrical thing under the glovebox looks like a fuse box but is much more, it has computer chips in it and controls everything. It has a huge number of wires in plugs on it.  Sometimes these show signs of corrosion on the pins.
