Focus mk2.5 help adjust front pannels

Featured Replies

Hi folks, have focus mk 2.5 (2008) wich was slightly hit on left side corner... Bumper and wing damaged, light had damaged all plastic connectors...

So I've got from scrap yard wing, bumper, decided replace under bumper crash bar(wasn't really damaged, but I've noticed on left side slight curve so I've decided replaced) also replaced whole reinforce plastic cradle(not sure what's correct name), where both side lamps sits, and holds rads.

So I've assembled everything, but there is big gaps under lights, is there any front adjustment technique?

Picture attached.

Thanks.

Gap under the headlamps is probably normal in truth - double check against another mk2.5 to give you a better idea.

For last photo if the gap isn’t parallel for LHS fender to bonnet but RHS ok you may need to loosen off fender and adjust it to try and get the gap even.

I'll try to figure out something with fender. But regarding headlights, I walked thru carpark and passed same year and shape focus. Front was perfect. There was no such gaps at all.

When installing front cradle, I've noticed that there was sort of adjustment screws... Fairly rusted tbh. I didn't touch them. Should I try to adjust them? Obviously bumper and headlights will have to go off... 🙈

That gap definitely isn't standard.  Realistically, you can't expect perfection after a bump but I think you could improve on that a little.

Is the bumper definitely located on the slam panel clips below the headlights?

In nearest few days I am goin to strip bumper and double check. In my memory everything went perfect, all clips screws and nuts went perfect without any force.

Thanks for pointing, I'll check after few  days. 👍
