Focus MK3.5 NS sidelight and brake light blown

Featured Replies

Hi, MK3.5 2015 focus Titanium, last week my front sidelight and brake light blew on my NS, have replaced with new bulbs and the working bulbs on OS.. still doesn't work.

Could only see fuse 21 related to the brake lights, replaced it to no success.

Odd for the issue to be on NS front and back and OS is fine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are no fuses for the sidelight circuits (front or back). They are controlled and switched by the Body Control Module (BCM) which is part of the passenger compartment Fuse Box.

Your car seems a little new to be getting this sort of problem, but the normal cause is water getting in to the connector that plugs in to the BCM. Disconnect the battery first before investigating the plugs and sockets on the BCM, check for signs of greenish corrosion on any of the pins.

The more likely problem will be a loose pin in one of the connectors. If you can find the circuit diagram for which wire it is on the BCM it will save time.
