Will the asbuilt data be the same wherever i get it from eg. etis or motorcraft etc. had to input the Vin as neither recognised my reg mark for some strange reason. I'd like the latest plus any updates if possible.

Cheers

As built data is as the name implies. It’s the config your car had when it was built, it doesn’t get any updates. You use it to restore your config to factory or as a basis to modify from.

Thank you for the clarification, i meant like gearbox updates etc to improve performance, life etc. Am looking to rewrite a cluster, not mine so wanna do it right.

So make no difference where i get it from.

Firmware updates are done through the 2.4 branch of FORScan not the 2.3, which is the one that everyone can just download.

I don't know much about that side of FORScan other than there is a lot more chance of bricking a car and because of this you have to apply specially for a build of it. I'm not sure what that involves but when it first came out they would only give it to people they deemed competent enough, it may be different now.

You would also need either an OBDLink EX or Vlinker adaptor.

Ahhhh i have the USB modified 327 with the latest Forscan version, more research needed.

I like to belt and brace stuff before launching into it, If you Asbuilt a cluster will that wipe any held information eg mileage, driving styles etc

Asbuilt is the configuration data of the module

Firmware is a completely different thing

When you update the firmware it does not change any of the config data
