Sync 3 Update

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've just updated my 18 plate Focus with the new Sync 3 update. Everything went as expected apart from the Sat Nav. I've noticed that the verbal commands on the Sat Nav cut out before the end of instruction. For example it should say turn left onto to the A34. instead it says turn left on to the A. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a bug fix?

Kind regards

Hi,

I updated my 2019 focus recently and have had the same problem.

Did you update you maps also? I have not yet updated mine.

Nobody else had this problem other than the two of us?

Re-do the update using the Cyan-Labs site.

https://cyanlabs.net/fhub/

You get the same Ford files (actually today you get the brand new F11 maps). The site is easier to use and the file package is better put together.

These are the genuine Ford files (not some sort of copy)

Latest CYANLABS updates as at today are:

Region: EU - Release: Sync 3.4.22110

Map Version: F11 (2021) - EU (05 2022)

I just updated the Sync 3 software but not done the maps yet, might hold off if there's an issue, I usually use Google maps with Apple CarPlay

Today, I used CyanLabs to upgrade from:

Version: 3.4.21265, Region: EU, Navigation Maps Version: F10

to:

Version: 3.4.22110, Region: EU, Navigation Maps Version: F11

Sorry for the late reply as I've been away. I redid my update with the Cyan-Labs site and everything is working correctly. Thank you all for your advice.

Kind regards

So, I've just spent 3 and a half hours downloading version 3.4.22110 from Cyanlabs onto a USB stick, but before I insert this into the car I just wanted to check something....when selecting the various download options prior to the download, one of them referred to the brightness setting (can't remember/find the exact question) but the two options were light or dark. The default option was light, so I stuck with that, but on my existing version (3.0.19205) I use the white lettering on the black back-ground (dark screen) rather than the light blue display screen. Should I have selected the dark option to keep this, or am I confusing two totally different things ??

What I'm basically asking is, does Sync 3.4 still have the option of either blue screen or black screen display, the same as Sync 3.0 ??

I'm now on Sync 3.4 and yes I do have the option of either blue or black

Cheers Unofix...will go and plug it in then and see what happens 🤞

You can only change the background between blue and black (more of a dark grey/lit black) on sync 3.4. The interface is still very much blue compared to 3.0s black at night.

Cheers guys...it took 55 minutes for the install and the only issue I had was after I poked my head in to check the progress bar and then shut the door and then the engine switched itself off because the key wasn't in the car 😲. I immediately got the key and re-started it but fortunately the install kept running, and all appears to be ok so far.

Alex...I see what you mean about the back-ground colour but I do like it (I thought there was an issue at first as it wouldn't stay on the black back-ground but then realised it was because it was in automatic mode, so I then switched it to night mode and all is now well) 🤞

Do I now need to update the Ford database to say that I am now on 3.4 and maps F11  ??

Personally I wouldn't worry about the Ford site and just stick with using Cyan-Labs.

I'm not even sure that the Ford site has started rolling out the F11 maps yet.

Cheers Unofix...just found the relevant Ford site and was about to upload the log file but I'm not sure which one to upload. The files on the USB stick are all from yesterday and are SyncMyRide, autoinstall.lst, DONTINDEX.MSA, log, reformat.lst.

Shouldn't there be one from today, ie after the install ??

Don’t upload it to Ford.

you’ve used cyanlabs to upload an unsupported version for your hardware. I really wouldn’t want to tell Ford that.

I doubt the Ford site will ever offer you a compatible update again anyway.  Just use cyanlabs now you’ve started with it.

Ok...good advice...cheers Alex/Unofix 👍
