Door lock

Featured Replies

Hi can any one help left rear door shows door open when it's closed brings up warning on dash .

I have had to replace the wiring harness to the door due to water in main harness plug the one the plugs into the car body it cured the window and door lock failure, but has left me with the door showing as being open

Locks work and windows work any ideas

if it doesnt have a plunger switch then its usually in the lock mechanism itself

Most possibly a faulty door lock latch.

The 'door ajar' switch is built it to the actual latch. The switch is used by the alarm system and is also used by the central locking to ensure the door is fully closed before locking it.

Replacement of the switch is very difficult as it is buried deep inside the latch. better to just replace the locking latch with one from a scrapyard

The signal from the door latch switch is sent to the BCM, I would check the wiring between the door and the 'B' post
