Hi all, 

My 2018 Focus has squeaking coming from the brakes from time to time when i touch the pedal, I was told the brakes had been done when I tested the car but now I'm not so sure.

Does this squeaking normally indicate the brakes/discs need changed?

    Probably replaced with cheap parts or calipers not cleaned up properly.  Squeaking rarely indicates worn out brakes in general.

    You may find that just the pads were replaced as discs are unlikely to be excessively worn in 4 years, but replacing pads alone can cause squeaks as the new pads don't seat against them perfectly.  Should be able to tell visually whether the discs are recent or not.  And may be able to see how much material is left on the pads through those wide spoked 18s!
