is these right indicator lenses?

Featured Replies

hi guys,

my right side indicator lens popped off while driving the other day, i am bit worried about water going in there and blow the bulb.

i have found these on ebay and wanted to see if anyone could tell me these are the right ones please?

many thanks guys 🙂

Yep, those are the correct ones, I would replace both at once to keep them matching. Odd that it 'popped' off though, never heard of that before especially as the bulb clips into it LOL

Sounds suspiciously like another case for a Sherlock Mk4 🤣

Lol, I thought the same when I initially read it.  I think he means the actual lens came away from the base instead of the whole thing popping out of the wing though!

I suppose that could be an answer. I know with my own ones, a couple of years ago I noticed both were heavily condensated. I popped one off just to see how difficult replacement would be, and I then just did a nice rub down, and a neat bead of clear sealant. Hair dryer & rag on stick to clean out the condensation. They have been 100% dry ever since! (But as you know, I'm cheap LOL)

You could've smoked them too!  Nice subtle mod.

Tom, I swear, I was this close to doing it, but if my car had have been silver or black, would have been a no brainer, but blue just didn't suit. That's the only reason I have never done my rear lights 🤣

many thanks guys

the lens was fogged up inside so i took the lens out so i could give it a clean and just put it back on thinking the sealant would have done the job.

i know i have messed up because the lens arent meant to pop off,  thought they did so now the adhesive isnt quite as strong now so the lens fell out.

how would you take the whole thing out? using something like cash card and pry it open?

They're sprung on one side.  Just need to slide it across either right or left.  (If it doesn't move one way, try the other!)  Then the end you're pushing should just come away.
