Focus mk3 automatic lights

Featured Replies

Hey yall

I was wondering if there is any possibility to set my normal lights to run alongside the motor running? In my country it is in the law that i have to have some sort of lights on at all times. My focus has automatic headlights, maybe i can trick them to run all the time?

If that's the case, how come you have managed to buy a car that doesn't fulfill this legal requirement?

I've not double-checked this or spent more than half a minute considering it carefully!!! (nor tried it myself) but if you cover the light sensor in the middle of the top of the dashboard say with black insulating tape, I reckon that should work.

All that i have to do is to turn the lights  knob every time i want to drive. It is manageable but annoying to deal with.

Yeah mate

Could you elaborate on that forscan thing. Is it a joke or you can actually turn on the Scandinavian mode on. If so then how would a diy person with a low budget do it?

FORScan is an independent Ford diagnostic and programming software programme made by some clever Russian engineers. It is FREE for most things you want to do. If you need to buy a licence for the advanced functions then it is £12.32 for the year.

You will need a lead to connect your laptop to the OBDII port. The best one is the new vLinker or the lead that most people are still using is the ELM327(modified).

ELM327(modified) lead : https://tunnelrat-electronics.fwscart.com/USB_Modified_with_switch_ELM327/p4541936_17045457.aspx

You only need a free, extended license and you will need a decent ELM327 cable, modified with a switch. Oh, and a laptop.

Download latest FORscan from their site, download and install drivers for the elm

Register on FORscan Forums, then use username to get free license

Do some research on Forum on connection settings for lead

Connect to vehicle

Headlamp settings is in BCM central configuration
