Weird wobble

Featured Replies

Howya lads and lasses

I just replaced the 2 top engine mounts on my 09 focus 1.8tdci along with the serpentine belt

Took it for a spin and noticed a weird wobble while stopped at the lights

I didn't change the rear mount so could this be the issue

All advice is appreciated as always

The lower mount really only stops the engine swaying back and forwards under throttle & braking.

Have a look at the new aux belt at idle, you might find that's 'jumping' on the sprung tensioner now.

Thanks Tom

I'll take look later when I'm home

Probably need to change the tensioner if it's jumping

So took a look today and there's no jumping, wobbling and any movement from the belt at all at idle

Didn't even notice the block wobbling or jumping

Any suggestions

How many miles have you done?  Rubber does settle slightly over time so it may just be the new mounts if you can't see any wobble.  Only suggestion I can give atm is to leave it a week or so and see if it improves.

Cheers again Tom

I've barely driven it at all

I'll leave it the week to see if anything changes

So the wobble is still there after a far few miles done,

I'm starting to think it could be the DMF or am I way off with this thought

Also was told it could've a dodgy injector

Any of you wise people have any idea if the above could be my annoying problem

Thanks in advance
