MK4 mold passenger and drivers side window

Featured Replies

I thought the mold was on the rubber, where the outside window slides up and down, I checked it this morning, it's not the rubber but the outside window where it stops when window is up, I'm guessing the seal should be fairly tight, so not sure whether I should pull the rubber away so I can run a cloth along or maybe a cotton bud to clean the mold, or just spray mold cleaner on the outside of the window and run the window up and down.

Not urgent just annoying, especially now the suns out.

Spray some waterless wax on it, agitate it with an old toothbrush, and clean off with a microfiber cloth... I have a tree lined driveway, this is a constant issue for me.

  1. It's not on the top of rubber, it's on the glass where the window stops against the rubber, not sure it will be flexible enough to use a tooth brush, will have a look this weekend, good idea using waterless wax, less chance of damaging anything.

The waterless wax will work on rubber AND glass. Spray it on, agitate it (it will turn into a green slime) then wipe it off...

Thanks Stephen, I tried to remove mold at the bottom of glass, it worked well, the rubber was a little more flexible than I thought, I wrapped a cloth around a 1mm Packer, I did loose one in the door though.
