Hi All

Just wanted to know if this is correct?  I have just purchased a Focus ST-Line Style (22 Plate) and was told it does not come with a manual as its all in the app.  I have never head of this before, can some confirm if they have heard of this?

2019 was the last year for paper books.

I wonder how that'll work out for an owner in 10 years time, buying a 'cheap' runaround, with no internet access to get his car 'manual', misses out on a crucial bit of safety information and crashes the car. Oh well, I'm sure the Ford legal team have already thought about that...

If in 10 years time ordinary people are still allowed to own a car, and if ICE are still allowed on the road, then the one thing I can guess for sure is there won't be any 'cheap' cars to be had 😧

Cars all have massive touch display screens now...why isn't the electronic manual loaded onto the infotainment system? 🤔

No internet access in a decades time!?  Internet is already pretty much vital in the UK.*  And if you're really struggling, you can use the internet at libraries or ask a friend or relative.

*Do any 'young' people manage without any internet access at all now?  I know the last few elderly people do, but just to claim benefits or do taxes requires internet now, meaning working age people mostly need to be online, even if only using free WiFi etc.

On a Volvo, it is. My mate has one and hates it! No doubt some other brands also have this feature.

Well there goes my patent idea then! .

I wouldn't like it either in fairness, but it would mean that the manual is always at hand for emergencies.

Thwarted again Tom, the manual is in the FordPass App.

Indeed.  Though we were assuming this person is stuck out in the stix with no internet access and needs an immediate answer to a fuse number or something.  I don't think the app manual can be accessed offline?

As Unofix says you can download the manual from Ford website and save as a PDF to your laptop/tablet/phone but this manual only covers vehicles up to 4/9/22.
