Galaxy power steering seizing

Featured Replies

I have an intermittent fault with the power steering on my 2013 Galaxy TDCi Titanium. The steering seizes for a few seconds then releases. My local garage recommends a new power steering pump at a whopping £1235. Has anyone experienced this issue please. Any suggestions for another (hopefully cheaper) solution?

You need to find a new garage !!

New power steering pump is £500, and lets say it takes 5 hours to fit . Lets add on £35 for new fluid (if needed?) which leaves £700 for labor. That's £140 per hour, who's doing the work a local Barrister ?
