Heads-up display question

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just been out for test drive in a 20 plate Focus Vignale and after a while found the heads-up display quite useful.  However, during the drive the heads-up display decided to turn itself off and fold back in, before coming back out and switching on again, and then all was well.

No, I didnt touch any of the HUDS controls (button or on the menu) - so just wondered whether they have a habit of doing this or whether its a faulty one?

Generally though, is it actually worth getting the Vignale model over say a Titanium X or standard Titanium?

Many thanks in advance for any info.

Nice car, it will have almost all the toys available.

What engine did it have ?

1 litre engine - 125 ps I think

The Vignale will have independent rear suspension, the other trim levels do not at that age.

Also depends what toys you actually want/use as to whether it's worth it.  Personally I've found the Vignale full leather seats are rock solid compared to the Titanium X half leathers.  And really that's the main difference in the cabin.

Things like pan roof and reverse camera were fairly common options on the Titanium X.

Vignale hatch alloys are also unnecessarily large, which won't help the ride comfort.  (Active Vignale alloys are same as Active X).

I’ve never had that happen with my HUD.

Me neither once up stays up until ignition switched off.

Our HUD has never faulted either. Perhaps the Vignale needed a bit of Viagra to keep it up, Newman style 🤣

Ok thanks everyone for your replies - maybe this car got a few issues and aint the one for me then.  The search continues.

Most modern will cars have issues and need repairs during sale prep or within the warranty period.  It's not like 10/15 years ago where you could buy a car and just expect it to work.

If a misbehaving HUD is the biggest issue you found, that may not be a cause for concern alone.  I'd be more bothered by the 125ps engine, assuming it's a non-MHEV.
