Mk4 Focus ST 2020 dashboard loss

Featured Replies

Hi have issue when driving car gives multiple warnings usually powertrain then dash fails completely apart from the network error on sync screen. Car continues to drive but have no cockpit controls indicators, hazards, parking brake. This first happened at 50mph on dual carriageway was pretty hairy getting over to hard shoulder. After  around 10 mins power to dash comes back then I get every warning message and dash is like a Christmas tree.

Been taken into dealer twice for problem last time it was in for over 3 weeks but they can’t get to bottom of problem. They ran an update and gave it back saying it’s fine…. Obviously it’s not.
Not sure what to do they don’t seem that interested.

Persist with the dealer there is obviously a fault. Keep taking it in with videos or pics of the problem. I have never seen this.

You could always try a different dealer if you feel you are not getting anywhere. But they should be getting an engineer out from Ford if they can’t fix it themselves.

The errors will be logging a fault.

I would recommend complaining to Ford CRC.

But their first suggestion will be to take the vehicle to a different dealer.

My suggestion would be to have Forscan set up ready and the lead, and when it goes down again do a snap-shot of the DTCs, there should be loads, to give to the dealer, it may help

Cheers guys I posted some new videos to Ford Uk and have a case manager. The dealership service department don’t seem to want to touch it anymore. They said because they couldn’t get it to fail they couldn’t get a field engineer. Getting them to return my calls has been impossible. Hopefully Ford Uk can put a rocket up them.
I’ve ordered a lead and got forscan downloaded.

My 2020 Ford Focus has just developed the same fault, cluster totally shuts down, warning lights on restart, fortunately engine keeps running. Booked into dealer hopefully the fault codes can be read?

  • 5 months later...

My 2019 Focus has developed the exact same issue. Dropped it into my Ford dealership at first they said it needed a software update but that didn't work. Next they replaced the instrument cluster panel but again no joy. They seem to be out of ideas and say they have another customer with this issue. Has anyone been able to get this issue resolved and know what the fix is? This is going on 9 weeks for me and as you can imagine getting incredibly frustrating.
