As above - maps are out of date but I'm struggling to find how to update them. Apparently car doesn't have SYNC, nor does it have a SD card slot [that I can find].

So I guess I need an update CD/DVD?

Can't find anything on the Ford site other than how to update this SYNC thing, which i don't have.

Is this going to involve an expensive trip to a Ford dealer?

Any tips would be great.

It's an easy update. First eject the SatNav DVD (watch the video). Next go to eBay and buy new disk either 2019 or 2021

Hmm... replacing the navigation CD makes sense but my car is nothing like that (pic attached) and the car's manual makes no mention of removing a navigation CD, pulling off the volume button, or anything mentioned in the video?

Car is locked up in the garage for the night so will have a closer look tomorrow.

The Satnav SD card is in the slot in the armrest. Your car does not use DVD.

Armrest slot was for sync 2 . He has non sync Bluetooth/voice on 2011. 

The SD card slot is just at above the display. It is easily missed. There's lots of sellers on eBay for the SD card. Just make sure you get the right one.

You're right, it is easily missed. Because I missed it! 😄

Now, how do I know which one I should replace it with?

I just found a 2022 version on the Ford website (for £90!) but that's showing as out of stock so I'm assuming it hasn't been released yet.

I'll give the 2021 version a go on eBay for 1/4 of the price. 😄

2021 will be better than 2011, and your probably right about 2022. From the image it looks like that's the last one they are doing. "Final update" 

If anyone's interested, the 2022 maps are now available from Ford online. Since I never got around to buying an older one off of fleaBay, I just ordered mine. Cost the thick end of a hundred quid but it's eleven years newer than my current maps and since it's apparently the final update, I won't have to buy another one for this car.
