stalling cutting out.

i have a 2011 focus 1.6 ti-vct which has done approx 60k miles a while ago it started to have a little misfire, so changed plugs leads, coil pack, air filter, cleaned maf sensor   basic top end service all seemed good. couple of months on stated stalling in traffic. thought i had not dipped clutch at 1st but then it did it again as rolling to a set of lights clutch defiantly all the way in. no stumbling or drop of revs .just as if i had turned engine off. ignition lights still on. car started straight away afterward 1st press of the button. car always starts 1st time drives fine approx. 39-40mpg back and forwards to work. sometimes it does feel like im in the wrong gear (when cold) sluggish pick up (manual 5 speed box). bought a obd2 connector hi-low and downloaded forscan no error codes as such for the dates of stalling but did have u0151,u0010,u0140,u0010,u0073 from months before. looking on here seems some people solved stalling issue with pcm update. how do i tell if the pcm on my car has had its updates. looking on forscan my update code is bv61-12a650bd.  can only ford update if required thanks for reading

Does the car use any oil between changes? EGR valve or throttle body needs cleaning?

You can update the firmware with a more expensive obd unit and forscan license but I wouldn't recommend it. If it fails you would have a dead car.Book it in to your nearest ford dealer telling them you need a PCM update because it is stalling when stopping at lights and in traffic. They may try and fob you off with getting a diagnostic done but for me it was cheaper to get the update than the diagnostic in the first place. I got all updates done for an hours labor charge fixing the issue for me on my 2011 ti-vct.

tried 3 ford garages in birmingham and they will not do updates without doing diagnostics at £95, then another charge to do updates if required. will not give me a difinative price on cost for updates, starting to get on my *****. expect me to drop it off and then just pay some bill they pick out of the air.

Maybe I was lucky when I got mine done or they have changed their stance on updates. I just walked into the service department at my local ford dealer and told them I needed software updates installing due to the stalling issue. They let me book it in and I got it done on a waiting appointment although I know they don't do waiting appointments any more.
