Automatic Transmission Gearbox problems

I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta Automatic - only 18,000 miles on the clock. It has developed a gearbox fault , which after going through all the diagnostic procedures, the mechanics who are ford specialists have recommended that the gearbox the problem is internal . Apparently this problem with this particular gearbox was known by Ford , who changed the design a few years later. 

Has anyone else had this problem and how have Ford dealt with it?

    It does not need a service the gearbox is faulty and needs replacing.
