Connect T230 L

Featured Replies

Hello troops. Brand new on here, just bought my first ever work van. A transit connect T230L 2008. Couple little niggles with it. There’s a bit of oil on the engine, and it seems to give out a little smoke when I put my foot down in lower gears. The boy said it was something like a “sweaty pipe” that was causing the oil to spill. Nothing dripping from the engine and I looked back on the mot history, no advisory’s or anything for it. It also, sometimes, when I take it up higher revs in 2nd, gets a bit laggy and then 3rd, it’s as if the gear stick holds and then jumps right up a gear.I knew I would have to do a bit work on it anyway but just wanted to see what people thought on here.

cheers

You'll need to clean the engine thoroughly with a degreaser and wash clean. if there's standing oil on the engine, there could be a blown gasket somewhere.
