Anyone buying a Focus ST, can you keep it nice please??

Featured Replies

I just read a glowing review of the 2022 Ford Focus ST exclaiming it to be the pinnacle of the brand. Fast, handles great, lovely interior etc etc. Anyway, despite it being so great, they are axing it in 2024, with the Focus plant in Germany being closed in 2025.

So, if any of you guys are fortunate enough to be buying one of these, can you keep it in good condition, as in about 10 to 12 years, I may be in the market for a nice used example of one as I'm determined never to buy  a battery car, I'm just too old not to have a proper petrol engine powering me LOL

Lol...good luck buying a Mk4 out of warranty!  Just replacing a faulty LED headlight cluster would cost more than your whole Mk2!

At least you'll get plenty of use out of the Maypole!

Maybe I should increase the warranty from 2 years to 5 years

A 2020 or 2019 would be best to go for they were loaded with standard equipment

This is why I intend to extend the warranty.

Worse looking front end though...  Depends if you're after a 'driving' car, or one to show & photograph in scenic locations.  🤔

Are you keeping yours after warranty then?  Don't fancy a facelift or a different model?

Not that bothered about the facelift front end, looks a bit more like a transit. Didn't wow me at Ford fair.

Also not a fan that the physical climate controls are gone, recaros gone, fog lights gone.

It's about £4-5k more than I paid to get the same spec I have now, for what is fundementally the same car, I just can't see the point, I've already refinanced the balloon figure (glad I did before rates went up!) so current plan is to extend warranty and keep it. Costing me a good £100-150 less a month than if I replaced it.

That wouldn't worry me, by the time I'd get it, my eyesight would be shot anyway 🤣

If you wanted a "driving" car, surely you'd buy a BMW.

I've never classed a FWD car as a driving car, no matter how powerful it was

Why settle for a bmw. Surely you’d just buy a Ferrari.

My 1987 Peugeot 1.9 Gti was most certainly, 'a driving car'! LOL
