Ford focus wing mirror

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a ford focus 2013 recently my drivers side power folding mirror stopped working along with the mirror control button. I bought a whole new unit from Ford and I've replaced it. The button that controls the mirror is now working but the power folding mirror is still not working. Left side is fine. Any ideas?

Cheers

May seem silly, but you're positive you bought a 'powerfold' door mirror? 100s of non folding ones for sale...

Yeah good point just checked and its a powerfold door mirror bought from Ford

They may be out of sync.  Try electronically closing the good one, then manually close the new one, then press the open button to open both together.

Yeah tried that still no luck must be a problem with the wiring 🙄

Hi Greg, there is a way to 'test' your mirror and the wiring but you're going to have to get the toolbox out.

Disconnect and remove the door mirrors from BOTH doors. Then plug the drivers mirror in on the passenger side and vice versa with the passenger mirror.

Of course you will need someone to help the hold the mirrors while you operate the switch. If the mirror on the passenger side door works and folds then at least you know the new mirror is working.

Try the mirror plugged in on the drivers door and if it is a wiring fault then it won't fold.

Many thanks will give that a go
