Intermittent clicking

Featured Replies

Hi,
I'm looking for a bit of help please.
I have a 2015 Fiesta 1.2. Coming up to 90k miles.
I couple of months ago my car started making a strange 'clicking' noise which seemed to appear at high revs, the sound would stay on for some time and then stop as suddenly as it started. More recently the car has been fine when returning from work, once parked for a while and I have gone out again the noise has started as soon as the engine starts.
I did take it to my local garage who had a listen and changed the timing belt as he said it was looking worn and slightly frayed, this has not fixed the problem. Once the noise starts it is there whether at speed or idling.
Has anybody heard this before?
The link below is an MP3 file of the noise.
