Rogerh
I have recently bought a 2020 focus estate and want to add a towbar. The car doesn't have the towbar module or the wiring for one in the location I expected behind the side panel on the right side of the boot. Looking at guides that come with towbar electrics it appears that I need to splice into the can bus near the obd port to wire a vehicle specific kit in. I'm a bit concerned about using the scotch blocks they supply for this purpose. Does anyone have any experience of adding towbar wiring to a vehicle without the module already fitted? I asked one 'specialist' fitter how they would do the job if they fitted it for me and all they would say is "it connects to the computer in the car"! I would rather do it myself than trust them, but am hoping there's some useful experience on here I can draw on.
unofix
Search this forum for much information on the subject of fitting Towbars. Here is a recent thread (Kuga, but same applies to Focus): 2
