Aerial base replacement help

Featured Replies

I have been trying to source a replacement base but it looks like it has been discontinued.  I know the car has built in GPS, but I have an aftermarket GPS installed so it's not needed.

Just wondered what my options were?

Thanks

Have you tried Aliexpress, Wish, Etsy etc. Or a local scrapper.

Ford finis code: 508610

Possibly still available in USA or it looks like a visit to a scrapyard

The GPS aerial base that was used on a large number of Ford models is no longer available anywhere in the world (apart from possible new old stock).

Ford discontinued this aerial base Years ago. It is superseded by an official modification kit that consist of a new aerial base, aerial cable, GPS antenna, etc.

Excessive wear of the rubber cover of the GPS arial base is extremely common. As a solution for this Paintmodz developed a painted cover which is available in several colors.

Thanks for the replies.

The only luck I've had finding the part is on eBay, used base but the seller wants £90 lol.

I might just replace the whole wiring loom as that is cheaper and would allow me to use other bases then.

Sorry I did not see your reply, I will check that out thanks

Land Rover used the same aerial base on a number of their vehicles. The only very slight difference is the fixing bolt, which Ford use M6 and Land Rover use M5 (or it might be the other way around).

It may be possible to find new, old stock as Land Rover discontinued these quite a while after Ford did.

LR part 'XUJ000030'

https://www.autofixa.com/buyboxproducts/276546/land-rover-roof-aerial-base-xuj000030

That part no is superseded new part no is XUC000030, found it available at £37.12 from parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com

not as cheap as you option though

I was going to create my own post for this, but this is so so on age so thought I'd just give it a bump!

I'm in the same situation now, for years I've put up with poor reception on my radio because parts of the aerial base was falling apart. A bit of the inner chamber has broken away so I'm unable to fully connect an aerial.

I did buy a basic aerial base, but when I come to taking out the old one I've realised it won't fit because the retention bolt is either too short, or the retention plugs during the fitting won't fit into the new basic aerial base - but it's perfect on the old one.

I didn't realise i would need a specific aerial base because of the GPS... With the car being so old now (mk2 focus / 2008) I don't know how I can go about fixing this now, at least as cheaply as possible*
